Aibonito Courthouse Proposal
The architectural concept of the 60,000 s.f. new building construction is based on the Balance of Justice. A sense of justice, civic presence, solemnity, integrity, dignity and security are integral part of the image of this building. The vehicular access and parking facilities to the building have been adequately segregated for security reasons into general public and personnel, judges and prosecutors, and defendants and police. The site also provides for various other activities such as a library and an independent circular structure that houses a comfortable cafeteria. The architecture of the buildings tries to merge with the elements of the site by taking advantage of the natural light, in the pursuit of a more comfortable environment.
