Residence by the Sea
The house by the sea is inspired by the architectural design of the typical plantation home in the tropics. The building interior is surrounded by a balcony and terrace that provide added circulation, places to gather and shade for thermal comfort. The beach is the central focus of the design and spaces are arranged to provide views to all spaces. Full glass windows and door allow the visual connection with the outdoors.. The high ceilings, skylights and large wall glass openings allow maximum natural light and cross ventilation. Raised floor, high ceilings, thermally insulated roof, thermal insulated doors and windows, and cross ventilation provide the home with total thermal comfort. Local materials, PVC reinforced windows and doors, PVC handrails were selected for durability and low maintenance costs.
